20-page step-by-step instruction guide on how to apply for an urgent visitor visa to travel to Canada for Ukrainian citizens.
On March 3, 2022, the IRCC announced special measures to assist Ukrainian citizens to come into Canada, including a simplified Visitor Visa application process.
The new Canada-Ukraine Authorization for Emergency Travel pathway has no limits on the number of Ukrainians who can apply and eliminates many of the normal visa requirements. The new extended pathway is expected to be open for applications in 2 weeks, with more information to be released in the coming days and weeks.
In an effort to support IRCC's commitment, Fasken Martineau DuMoulin LLP prepared a 20-page step-by-step instruction guide to support Canadians that are working to bring their friends and families to safety in Canada.
Ukranians who are not fully vaccinated
Ukranian nationals who are not fully vaccinated may enter Canada if they have:
A temporary resident visa (visitor visa);
temporary resident permit; or
written notice of approval for an application for permanent residence in Canada.
Notwithstanding, all travellers must still comply with the COVID-19 requirements for Canada prior to departure such as quarantine and testing.
